Celmmie Colshannon's life appears to be on a fast track to nowhere - having lost her job and her boyfriend on the same day, she's retreated to the bosom of her family on Cornwall to recover.

Fortunately, life chez Colshannon is never dull. Clemmie's brother, Barney, is in love but won't tell anyone who with; her mother is in the middle of a production of Calamity Jane and won't come out of character; and sister Holly, who is a reporter on the Bristol Gazette, needs a big story before her editor sacks her. But when a colleague from teh Gazette goes missing, and Clemmie stumbles across a clue as to her whereabouts, it's not long before the drama turns into a crisis and the whole family is forced to flee to the sout of France with a felon hot on its heels...
