Following on from Eight Cousins, Rose in Bloom shows exactly that - Rose Campbell all grown up.
She's still battling with her conscience as she has to decide whether, with her wealth, she wants to be a society girl or a philanthropist. She also has to decide which of her cousins she loves: the irresponsible and handsome Charlie or the steadfast and studious Mac.
There's still quite a bit of moralising here, but it never gets overly preachy.
