I got this one from my father, who has way too many books of his own. An okay thriller set in the second world war, as it states on the back cover:

"Two weeks before D-Day, the French Resistance attachs a chateau containing a telephone exchange vital to German communications - but the building is heavily guarded and the attack fails disastrously.

Flick Clairet, a young British secret agent, proposes a daring new plan: she will parachute into France with an all-women team known as the 'Jackdaws' and they will penetrate the chateau in disguise. But, unknown to Flick, Rommel has assigned a brilliant, ruthless Intelligence colonel, Dieter Franck, to crush the Resistance. And Dieter is on Flick's trail..."

Found this book on the second floor of the Fredrikke Cantina at UiO.

I've recently completed it. I'm a big WW2 buff so this really fell into my taste, although it really reminded me of the 1967 ww2 classic The Dirty Dozen.

Step 1. gather rag-tag team
Step 2. Train them
Step 3. Blow up chateau in France to disrupt the germans
Step 4. Protagonist and atleast max_team/4 survive.
Step 5. Live happily ever after

I really liked the antagonist, Dieter Franck. And thus I thinked the ending was really horrible (is it morally preposterous to let the germans win in ww2 fiction, for ONCE?)

Anyways, a good book and thanks alot :). Although I like books, and free books even more, this one will go into my collection.
(no offense, but I think the whole bookcrossing concept is a wee bit retarded)

Kind regards, joakibj
