Anansi Boys
1 journaler for this copy...
This is a good-fun read. Written as sequel to "American Goods" (which was a GREAT-fun read).
It stands well on its own without requiring previous knowledge from AG to enjoy it.
Gaiman recreates and reanimates mythology and always spins a wicked tale. Storytelling is a constant theme of his and his books always contain memorable, touching, and alarming little vignettes within the main story.
This book follows up on a minor character from AG, Anansi.
((Anansi is an African folklore hero and his stories are worth hunting down for their own merit. A sly spider with a wily intellect and an endearing laziness who always attempts to trick those bigger and stronger than himself... with sometimes mixed results. Braer Rabbit was originally an Anansi story.))
