Cat's Eye

I had a tough time getting into it at first. It just seemed like there was so much description I wondered if there was a plot. But I finally started seeing the big picture and started to enjoy it more. I could relate to quite a bit of what the main character experienced in her younger years. The cruel little girls that are her "friends", especially, growing up with boys and being able to interact with them more comfortably than with girls, trying to block out the childhood memories of not being accepted by your peers and the cruel ways they let you know there was something unacceptable about you, and trying so hard to be loved by them, as well as a love for creating art. It seemed almost as though the author experienced parts of my life. In a nutshell, this book was uncomfortable yet enjoyable, and I think I would recommend it to others.
I am adding this to Bunnylady's Baby It's Cold OUtside bookbox.

I have chosen this out of the bookbox to do a quick swap into another book box I have here, The Canadian Authors Bookbox.

Releasing into the Canadian Authors Bookbox.
This book enjoyed a brief visit in San Jose, California before continuing on its journey in Kimmi's Canadian Authors bookbox.
This arrived today in my bookbox. Thanks for sending it!
Another author that people rave about but that I can't get into. I find her stories very hard to read. Being forced to read her in High School and University was enough for me!
This book is being released in the Canadian Authors Bookbox part 3 leaving this week.

Having attended her college in her Alma Madder, UofT, I get kind of sick of hearing about her sometimes, but I try not to let that cloud my judgement. I think I could really relate to this story, as I had a similar childhood. Taken from the Canadian Authors Bookbox 3.
