This is a book I have collected and had on my shelf for sometime now, and I am now keen to set them all free! This is the fourth one in the Kay Scarpetta series, and I am sending them out on a spiral ray...
Patricia Cornwell spiral
Would anyone be interested in reading the Kay Scarpetta series, in
order, through a book spiral?
I collected these books with such committment for years, but now that
I am reading the end of the series, I am ready to set them free!
I would love to see them travel!
The book spiral will work as a staggered series release ray, meaning
when #1 finishes book #1 they get book #2 and pass on book #1 to
person #2, so you should get the next in the series after each
installment, and you will get to read them in order.

The Body Farm
From Potter's Field
Cause Of Death
Unnatural Exposure

This is the prize winner of the series, and is fast paced, complicated at times with the twists and assumptions of the cases worked.
We are presented with the death of Mark early on, which stumped me. I had to check to make sure this was the right book next in the series. But it is.
Dr Kay has developed strong working relationships with both Marino and Wesley in this book, and the three of them work well together. In fact, the respect and protectiveness of Marino shows that Kay and him have come a long way from the first book, and her contempt for him.
She is implicated in a series of murders which are occuring in Richmond, just after the execution of a prisoner on death row. Fingers prints and computer systems are involved, and soon evidence seems to point to Dr Kay, in the eyes of the press....and she needs to figure this one out to clear her name.
This book is a stand out for me in the series so far, in that the characters have developed, and the working relationships are bonding strong. Lucy is becoming a young, and very intellegent young woman, and her assistance is crucial in these cases.

Arrived today ... thank you. Just about finished the DaVinci Code, this is next!
This was an enjoyable and nailbiting read, poor old Kay, in the firing line again!! It ended very quickly though, and left me feeling a bit flat! Spoiler ... The feeling probably arose because they didn't catch the perp - hopefully he will reappear in another installment and I'll get my exciting ending 8-)
Spiralling to kidwrangler tomorrow.

This book landed in my letterbox today - yay! I look forward to reading more of the Scarpetta adventures - Thanks Hawkette :)
Although I liked the interaction of the characters in this book, it wasn't the stand-out for me so far. I agree with astro that the ending was a bit sudden. I prefer everything neatly presented at the end thankyou hahaha :) Generally a good read, and a change from the perspective of the problems faced by Dr Scarpetta.
Thanks Hawkette, I'll be posting this on to LadyIndigo this week.

ok so now i have an answer to the phone listing question that i have had in the previous 3 books - on page 24 we are told "i would have loved an uinlisted number but not possible..." many people have "legitimate reasons to call after hours" . but i find that inconsistent when helen grimes as a prison officer is allowed an unlisted number
couple of loose ends in the story for me(susan and ben) and what really is the purpose of a few pages of romantic interest when he gets killed away...
tho in this one the killer runs away not gets killed before we learn about motives and such....
well now i've read it - thanx for sharing hawkette ;-)

Finally managed to contact one of the next in line and this GREAT read is on it's way to SWITZERLAND
*WARNING* SPOILERS AHEAD - The best of the series so for and at last we meet Mr Temple Gault. He didn't seem quite as evil here as he will become we meet the evil genius barely, but we are left hungry for more. Why is it I seem to prefer the villain to the good guys?
