A novel that is partly historical and partly modern day, set in Russia and the United States. It is a good read with quite a bit of suspense.

I can't be sure when or where I will leave this and computer time in Cuba is pretty scarce. This vague drop description will have to do...
UPDATE:
My husband ran out of his own books on our honeymoon and started reading this one so I couldn't release it. I'll take it to our monthly bookcrossing meeting and leave it at the OBCZ.

RELEASE NOTES:
I took this book from the BookCrossing meetup because teenie-k said it was really good. The description does sound like something I would like so I'll put it on Mount TBR.
This is the second Steve Berry book I have read in a short time and I have enjoyed them both. This one deals with the old question of whether there were survivors when the Imperial family of Russia, the Romanovs, were massacred by the Communists. Berry's take on it is interesting and the pace is fast. One small quibble: for a book written in 2004 that supposedly takes place in the present i.e. 2004 there seemed to be remarkably little use of computers or the internet or cell phones. I know Russia was a little further behind than North America but I can't believe these technologies weren't available.
I'm going to give this book to BellBelle since she loaned me the other Steve Berry book I read. Enjoy!

I see in reading the journal entries that this was a book passed on during the 2009 Keep Them Moving challenge (6 months ago) - guess I wasn't a very good choice for this endeavour after all! Well I've now read the book and enjoyed it very much. Had a hard time separating fact from fiction as far as the historical part went but am pretty sure the ending is pure fiction. I was intrigued to read about the Faberge egg - I actually saw 2 of them in a museum in Baltimore this past Sept. and when I went back and checked my travel brochure discovered that each of those was made by a different artist and that the 2 artists were the ones mentioned in the book. This is my second Steve Berry book and I think I actually enjoyed it more than the first one of his I read. Probably time to run the rest of his works to ground.
BellBelle handed this book back to me so I will mark it available and find some suitable place to release it.
