I have not finished reading this book yet. I picked it up for several reasons: I love to travel and love travel memoirs; I want to retire and RV full time, so wanted to read of another RVer's experience; and, I've been to many of the places that Charles Kuralt writes about and would like to revisit those places (Alaska, Maine, and Key West especially) vicariously through him.

Just not my cup of tea. I don't think Charles Kurault describes a place in the way I would want it described. Or maybe I've just read too many travel memoirs lately and his seems trite. I'm getting very tired of people writing about travelling the backroads, looking for the "real America." Hello! It's been done to death and the backroads country folk aren't any more real than the New Yorkers, San Franciscans, or politicians in Washington, D.C. It's all America.
I'm adding this to awakeagain's Trade Paperback bookbox.

I'm pulling this from the Trade Paperback box. I'll probably use it for the regular Travel Swap at Book Obsessed after I've read it.
This book was only okay. I agree with the previous JEs that the writing seemed a bit trite. I'll be passing it along to momx3lovesbooks, who selected it from the Everybook VBB on Book Obsessed.
