And you don't fall in love with a werewolf. It interferes with your work. Especially when you're a preternatural expert, like me. My business brings me up close and personal with all shapes and sizes of monsters. And not ALL of them want to kill me.

Take, for instance, the local pack of lycanthropes - they're werewolves to you. A number of them are missing, and they've come to me for help. Maybe because I'm dating the leader of the pack. I've survived a lot - from jealous vampires to killer zombies - but this love thing may kill me yet.

The fourth Anita Blake book was just as good as the previous ones. Anita is finally getting some action because she is dating Richard the werewolf, and we learn that she doesn't want to have sex out of wedlock. I'm curious to see what makes her change her mind, as I've heard that the future books will be pretty steamy...

The plot with the missing lycanthropes was good, and I was delighted to get to know the werewolf community better. I loved how Anita stood up for herself when challenged. What I didn't like so much was Jean-Claude, who was still annoying. Fortunately this book concentrated on Richard. I really like him, and would love to see Anita end up with him. But unfortunately I don't think that's gonna happen...

A couple of spoiler comments, highlight to read:
I loved the subplot with the lycanthrope porn/snuff films. The scene in Edward's hotel room was one of the most powerful scenes I've read in a long time. I hope this issue will be brought back in future books.

I totally loved how Anita killed Alfred, and especially how she killed Aikensen.

Edward is definitely one of my favorite characters, I hope to see more of him in the future. I missed Larry in this book, but then again Anita didn't raise any zombies either. It's actually nice that the books focus on different aspects of Anita's life, and I'm glad I got to know Richard and the other lycathropes better. I'm now off to read Bloody Bones.
