A classic Victorian novel. A delight to find something new written by Louisa May Alcott, though one is tempted to say by Jo March. The bonus is it is so readable and escapist. Must have been the first of the modern "Romantic Novel' genre. Written as a magazine serialization in 1866 this book was considered too "sensational" to publish in book form the late 1860's and the manuscript was lost for over 100 years. Enjoy.
