Kyle's Bed & Breakfast
2 journalers for this copy...
The world's favorite comic strip
about a gay bed & breakfast!
(Actually, it's the world's only comic strip about a gay bed & breakfast...)
I bought this specifically for a bookbox that's coming my way (because I wasn't going to give up my own copy!)
It's a collection of the first few years of Kyle's B&B comics which can be found online: http://www.kylecomics.com
It stars Kyle who, obviously, has a Bed & Breakfast. Kyle is gay, as are most characters in the stories, though Richard does have a friend who's a lesbian and there are certainly some straight characters as well. The various characters come in and out (in more ways than one) and many even live in the B&B permanently. I adore the characters, who all feel very real and who have a LOT of heart. There's a wide range of topics. There's drama, there's sadness, and there's tons of humor. Kyle has to be my favorite, but the others are great to get to know and follow. I look forward to the strip when it comes out every few weeks.
The dialogue is very pointed and has to acomplish a lot in a small amount of space, but much feels very real. The drawings are wonderful, though. There's everything from wholesome storylines to sex (and nummy but "tasteful" nudity).
But in addition to the years of comics, there are also some just-for-the-book strips, blueprints of the house, a history about the stip and lots of info about Greg Fox and his various other works.

Caught in Wyldewomin's LGBT bookbox - journalled and left in the box.
ETA 12/8/06 - USPS delivered on 11/21/06. I've attempted to contact Tammy via PM twice (once today, once last week). No replies. Will update as new info becomes available.
ETA 12/20/06 - I believe we can all kiss these books goodbye.
