This book was purchased at a thrift shop, and it lived here as part of personal collection of Newbery books for a while. I have acquired another copy, so I've decided to Bookcross this one. This book was the 1984 Newbery winner. It wasn't my favourite of the Newbery books, but it had its moments :) I hope whoever has this next enjoys it!
This book was sent to skylerdragon some time ago, but I've been unable to update its journal until now. I hope that skylerdragon gets it soon!
i liked the book a lot . it really moved me because i think that the little boy just wanted to see his dad but really never got to and then you know he really never had much but i alot coming for him and i really think that if he put his mind to it that he can do anything

what starts out for Leigh letters to his favoite author to help him with school assignments. What he finds out from the author to keep a diary is a great advice for a young boy who misses his dad who is a long haul truck driver.
I like the way Leigh finally figures out how to take care of his missin g items from his lunch.
