If you're the lucky one who picked this book up for the first time, may I say you're in for a wild adventure. This is the book that started the LOTR craze oh so many years ago. Long before Hollywood made millions of this story, J.R.R Toklien was a humble, but prominent, English Professor who was frustrated with the inadequate writing abilities of his students. While reading one paper that lacked all sense of purpose, Tolkien wrote the following phrase in sheer frustration,

“yeah, well in a hole in the ground lived a hobbit.”

The rest, as they say, is history. The little frustrated comment became lodged in his head as he began forming ideas and plotline around this little character known as a hobbit. Tolkien, a master of medieval epic poetry and prose, entwined his knowledge into this new epic and ended up creating a powerful story of adventure unlike anything ever written before. If it’s your first time reading this story I do hope you enjoy the tale within. This is just one of the several copies I own and I’d really like to share the story with anyone willing to give it a good read. So wherever this little book travels, I hope it brings it’s owner good times, good memories, and great adventures! HAPPY READING!!!
