It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

I bought this for a student. He returned it to me after reading it.

I won't get to it for a while, but I thought perhaps others might want to read it, so I am offering it as a book ring.

Journal Entry 4 by vexter from Ljubljana, Osrednja Slovenija - Okolica Ljubljane in Ljubljana Slovenia on Tuesday, November 7, 2006
Finally here! Thanks, Cocobarks! I have 2 more books before this one, but I hope I'll be finished soon enough.

I’m not a big sports fan in general or a football fan in particular, but a lot of my friends are. Reading this book was my attempt at understanding them. :) The book’s author is obviously a big fan himself, and he conveyed some of his passion through his writing. I can’t say he made me a fan, but I appreciated it.

Other than that, the book is quite interesting, with tidbits of history, sport trivia and conspiracy theories. Although I can’t say I would give football as large a role in world politics as he does. ;)

Cocobarks, thanks for sharing this very interesting read! The book is on its way to labmomnm as of this morning.

Journal Entry 6 by winglabmomnmwing from Albuquerque, New Mexico USA on Saturday, December 2, 2006
Arrived in yesterday's mail; I have 1 bookring ahead of this one, but I should be able to get to this within a few days.

22 December 2006 - Sorry for the delay; I finished this about a week ago and thought I'd re-journaled already....my mind is shot! This was a really interesting look at the game as well as some of the places it is played - how many sports fan-columnists do you think are kicking themselves for not having thought of this angle for a book/study?

Mailed this morning.

Journal Entry 7 by wingAramenawing from Noble, Oklahoma USA on Wednesday, January 3, 2007
Arrived today! Shall be starting it soon!

Journal Entry 8 by wingAramenawing from Noble, Oklahoma USA on Thursday, January 4, 2007
I was in such a hurry yesterday that I forgot to tell labmomnm thanks for the treats she included with the book! I gave one to each of my girls and kept one for myself!

Parts of this book didn't keep my interest, while other parts were fascinating. I enjoyed the section about Pele, of whom I was a huge fan in when I was a teen. The section about the hooligans was also interesting, and I had no idea racsim against Jews was still so prevalant in some countries!

This is on it's way to bluehawaii218 today!

Journal Entry 10 by bluehawaii218 from Washington, District of Columbia USA on Monday, February 19, 2007
Came in the mail last week but I was away on vaca (so sorry for the delay in journaling!). I'm currently finishing up another bookring book, but will start this one next. Thanks so much for sharing it!
