Journal Entry 2 by dutchbooky from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Sunday, November 19, 2006
Just finished reading this. Reminds you a bit of The Devil wears Prada, but then in a mini version!
Lisa Edwards, succesful editor in London, gets a transfer to Dublin to launch the new Colleen magazine. She feels this as being degraded, but is determined to make everything a succes. Gradually cracks appear in her 'bitchy' attitude and she realises that there is more to life than a career.
Her life in Dublin is linked with a number of other women, who all have their own problems to face at work and in their love life.
Halfway the book I started to skip pages, but finally I read through all of them and enjoyed the whole story!
This will be going to Argentina as soon as I have Daysleeper's address!
Edit: mailed on December 11 - standard, because it is quite a heavy book. Hope you enjoy it Val!

Released 13 yrs ago (6/20/2010 UTC) at Strandpaviljoen Zoomers in Castricum, Noord-Holland Netherlands
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
This is going with me to the annual BC meeting in Castricum. I hope it will find a new reader. Enjoy!
I've been hoping to bump into this book sometime, so against my better judgment (Mount TBR is already far to high), I picked it up to add to the books waiting to be read.
Read in September 2011 during the Ultimate Challenge theme 'Favourite Books'. In this case, it was more the fact that I usually enjoy books by Marian Keyes that made me choose to read it now, and reading such a thick book left a nice gap in my bookshelf! I didn't think this was one of her best, although it is probably one of the best known, but it did make for good relaxed reading in a rainy week.
Taken out of the ICON boxes, hoping to release it in Dublin, if it fits in my suitcase.
