I'm really not sure whether this is going to be "my sort of book" or not but I am pleased that BookCrossing encourages me to broaden the scope of my reading and HonoraryBCDog will enjoy releasing this when I have finished with it.

Well, after a shaky start I did enjoy this book quite a bit. What really irked at first was the "puppy baby-talk" as everything (buses, people, houses, windows ...) had to be described as from the viewpoint and experience of a very young dog and had it continued like that I would have flung it across the room before long. However, mercifully that didn't last and the story began to get interesting and - setting aside for the moment the central premise of reincarnation - quite believable.

Whether or not you believe in reincarnation shouldn't greatly affect how you view this book and any dog-owner will recognise many of the behaviours and will appreciate both the dog and the humans' interaction with him. I thought towards the end it was a little weak and the final paragraph slightly contrived but overall a pleasant enough read.

I will now pass it over to HBCD who will wild release it in due course.

Thanks Mum! I am looking forward to going to another BC meet or a ramble at Delamere so I can release this book. (The picture on the cover looks like my cousin Izzie!)
