From inside cover:
"Thirty-four years ago, Violet Sullivan put on her party finery and left for the the annual Fourth of July fireworks display. She was never seen again.
In the small California town of Serena Station, tongues wagged. Some said she'd run off with a lover. Some said she was murdered by her husband.
But for the not-quite-seven-year-old daughter Daisy she left behind, her absence has never been explained or forgotten.
Now, thirty-four years later she wants the solace of closure."

I must have forgotten to journal this, as I had read it awhile ago. This is my comments from weRead dated Dec. 17/08
--This is one of the best books in the series. I enjoyed it very much and kept guessing all the way to the end. The previous few books were a bit lacking and this one more than made up for those. I liked the flashbacks of Violet from different characters points of view. Can't wait to read the next one.--
I believe I gave this copy to my mom, so it is marked as travelling. If I locate it I will update the status.

I've read this book in the past, and agree it is one of the best of the series.
I actually mooched this book to pass it on to a nursing home library, in the hopes that someone else will enjoy it as much as I did. So for everyone out there... don't forget to drop books of at nursing homes; many of those folks love to read!
