It is not a bad book, nor is it a good book, but the story in it was troubling for me: hatred for one another because of one's religion. In my opinion religion is a good thing, but not if it justifies hatred for another religion or for a person of another religion. The story is as old as the "civilized" world: brutal. I enjoyed the book because of the facts described in it, but I do not agree at all with religious hatred. It is something I will never understand.
