The Colour of Magic (Discworld Novel S.)
3 journalers for this copy...
On a world supported on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown), a gleeful, explosive, wickedly eccentric expedition sets out. There's an avaricious but inept wizard, a naive tourist whose luggage moves on hundreds of dear little legs, dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course THE EDGE of the planet...

I caught the book at my favourite releasing point -- the Starbucks that was once Albert Britnell's bookstore, at Yonge & Bloor in Toronto. A grey, rain-threatening day after too little sleep, dragging my pathetic posterior into my local caffeine dispenser and, suddenly -- TERRY PRATCHETT! Changed my whole day, that did. THANK YOU BOOK FAIRY! And the first one, too. (Mind-boggling: who knew there was a first one?!). I will read and re-release quickly. Or maye I will read it, pass it on to my daughter, and then re-release it. Or maybe.... reading is right up there, though. Also releasing. But although time sometime stops, duration ... you know ... continues. Or something. Did I mention it's not yet nine a.m.?
I have read several other Terry Pratchet books and have high hopes for this one. I found this book while I was in Toronto, and a good friend gave it to me to take back home, all the way across Canada!
