Apologies in advance for this, I'm a bit of a sycophantic idiot where Ali Smith is concerned! Her work is just awe-inspiring. I could go on all day but I'll just chose one fantastic thing to mention about her writing...

It's very spacious. She doesn't get bogged down in trivial details about her characters' cars and jobs and families, so you don't have to remember anything. So you can luxuriate in all that lovely space. You don't have to concentrate so you can let all the beautiful images and word play wash over you. It's a very liberating experience you know, reading Ali Smith.

I'm looking forward to seeing what other people think.

Yes - I enjoyed this. I like books like this where you get to be inside different characters' heads. Each chapter worked on its own as a short short story, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
