the true story of a special needs teacher and one of her pupils, who refuses to speak becuase she has suffered such horrific abuse she believes she is a ghost.
some readers may not like the ending, because there are no tidy answers and no clear explanations as to exactly what happened to the girl, but personally i found that much more believable. the real world is not like a novel where everyone has a happy ending and all the loose ends get tied up -sometimes we just have to accept that we don't know all the facts and probably never will.
now on the way to xeyra who has been patiently waiting for it after the last YBS

It arrived today. I'm looking forward to reading this one, because it does appeal to the educational psychologist in me. I'll have to see if I can squeeze it into my TBR somewhere. It's not the kind of book I thought I'd end up with in the YBS but I really couldhn't resist it when the opportunity arose to take it out of the game. Thank you for offering it, MissBagPuss.
