Son of Rosemary: The Sequel to Rosemary's Baby

Sequel to Rosemary's Baby (pretty good book, so-so movie)
Maybe my tastes have changed in the almost 40 years since I enjoyed Rosemary's Baby. I should've read this one when it was published (1997) just in time for the Millenium fears and speculations. Now, it was just a bit of entertainment for a dreary, chilly Sunday afternoon.
The ending did make me smile. It almost made the rest of the book worthwhile. Even though it was a quick read, it was still a bit much just to set up that "punch line."
SPOILER ALERT:
I wonder if he wrote that after seeing the last episode of that Bob Newhart TV set in an inn in New Hampshire? Or vice versa?
