Blood Meridian : Or the Evening Redness in the West (Vintage International)
1 journaler for this copy...
I'm reading this for the second time. Something about the setting (the Desert Southwest border lands of New Mexico area) really calls to me. I've traveled that area quite a bit and there's a definate draw. Am I repeating myself? Nothing unusual.
This book is very violent, and it scares me that folks actually did / do these kind of things. That being said, Cormac McCarthy has a gift in setting the scene. He can be compared to Faulkner, but they're very different. McCarthy is his own man. One of my favorite authors.
I'm willing to loan out this well worn copy if I get it back.
