I was amazed to simply see an abandoned book, lying "in the wild" in the midst of a busy shopping mall in Knoxville TN. I picked it up to determine the owner, if possible. Instead, I realized I could actually HAVE the book to read. So it is in my possession and I will read it as soon as I finish the one I'm reading now (a new Patricia Cornwell thriller). Clancy's Op-Center is a WONderful surprise gift, and I'm delighted to have become a partner in such a giving chain. I actually found the book Dec. 7, but my Internet was down until today, Dec. 17.
First, I apologize for keeping the book so long before I got around to reading it (11 months)! It's not my usual kind of book but I completely enjoyed it. Adventure, intrigue, suspense, murder, hi-tech, et al. At first I thought the writing style would be confusing, but I had no trouble picking up the threads of continuity with all the groups/characters involved in the story. Could hardly put it down once I got started.
