These 'small town' murders are fun because you get to know evrybody in town & you also get some great dessert receipes along with the murders' !
23/7/06:I'm glad this book ended up in Nuernberg, my old home from 1962-1964, I lived in the town next door, in Fuerth! Nice 'small town' !! I think it was near Friedrichstrasse! for sure it was at the U.S. Army base William O. Darby Kaserne, across from a beautiful Catholic Cathedral/Church ! I loved 'Kris Kringle Mart' in Central Nuernberg !
A great fussball arena for FC Nuernberg, & host to some nice 2006 World Cup Matches, too !

Fudge Cupcake murder, thats sounds absolutely delicious. With receipes? Really? Yummy!
I like those cosy mysteries, it wasn't the best I ever read, but it was funny and a fast read. Some of the recipes sound rather good, but it's always hard for me to read american recipes because of the different weighting system.

But, speaking of those recipes, I really wondered why the secret ingredient for the chocolate fudge cakes makes a german flavor, because I can't name any german baking recipe, that uses any kind of syrup. But, combining chocolate and syrup might be very sweet, but sounds tasty. Hannah's first guess for the secret ingredient however really shocked me: sauerkraut! chocolate and sauerkraut - that's just sick! I really hoped that this was a joke, but no, there are recipes like that! And they have the gall to name that abomination GERMAN Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake. Everybody I told this was shuddering!

@ vc-mike: the WorldChampionship was simply great! Superb weather, a lot of nice people from all over the world in Nuernberg and parties all over the city. No, Nuernberg was a single party. Everyone was celebrating, winners, losers and hosts flocked the city before and after a game and partied the night through. It was incredible. I've never in my life seen Germany so elated, so friendly and full of national pride in a good way. Of course it helped that the german team did very well, too.
