I've had this on my shelves for many years and have always thought that I'd read it. However, when I picked it up to register it I flipped through it and it didn't seem familiar, so I'm reading it now.

Having finished reading it, I'm still not sure if I've read it before! In any case, I enjoyed it. Mayle writes well, many of his anecdotes are amusing (though I wouldn't go so far as to call them "hilarious", as Dirk Bogarde did) and reading about living in Provence must be the next best thing to actually living there!
Having acquired a holiday home in the Dordogne since I made the last journal entry, I intend to leave this book in the house on my next visit, for the enjoyment of my future guests.
