This is promised to another BC'er Cray17 in a trade when I finally get around to reading it!

This is the third Atwood novel I've read and I'm starting to see a pattern..not sure if I like that.

Individually - this story really caught me right from the beginning. Elaine's feelings and emotions as a young girl are so true to life and real that I can almost remember feeling as she did at some points. Atwood has an excellent grasp of children's motivations and how they relate to adults.

Great book. Elaine's childhood experiences were very vividly expressed.
