This was an entertaining read, and I supposed I might have rated it higher, if I hadn't gotten so hooked on Stone Barrington (the intelligent, sexy main character) and decided to plow through half a dozen books (some of them registered here, some borrowed from the local library). I'm a little worn out now - he has a LOT of sex with new partners - I guess that's why it's fiction! - but the mafia princess, LA/Hollywood scene with private jets and fancy homes with security gates, etc - well - that part got kinda cliche for me. But I did get through it in a matter of days - so, it still got me some release from my every day work life - and, well, that meant it was a good time! And yes, I'm starting the next book in the series, Cold Paradise, today....(So, I guess I'm not TOO worn out on this character or this author just yet...!)
