An excellent story of the Ganguli family newly arrived in USA from Calcutta, What happens when a 'name'gets lost on its way.

Also as some of it is set in NYC I could picture the places and streets after our visit there in April 2005.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and will look for more by this Pullitzer prize winner.
I shall pass this to my daughter, nothing like keeping it in the family!:-)

Passing this on to my daughter today 23 Jan 2006. A well travelled book inside the pages as well as outside.

I recommend this book. A family emigrate from their home for a new life in USA. A son who is named after an author of a book that saved his fathers life.
Whoops! just remembered this was not my book originally and Jo usually likes to hang on to hers.
