This Little Golden Book is one of the Little Critter books. I loved these as a kid, but none of my kids seem to be really into them. We went through my daughter's vast pile of books tonight and she said this was one she was ready to pass on to someone else.

We found this book at the post office one day, took it home and it's been my 2 year old's favorite book since then. He already liked to read, but new books are always fun.
