While it falls short of the original, I'd recommend it to fans for a fun read. Full review is in the journal entry for my first copy registered.

Bought as a gift for a fellow Adams fan. Enjoy!

Rabbits galore, showing their wonder!

I started reading this today at school at am so far really enjoying it. I got through part one and I must say my fave story is the one where the leader of the rabbits has to go to "war". hehe, it really didn't seem like war to me, only a dose of medicine that was sorely deserved. ;)

I had three hours of study halls, all three in a row, so I read and read and read. LoL. This book will be apart of my 5x5x5 reading challenge, under the Europe section.

This brings back memories from Watership Down... and I'm starting to miss the little book I sent away as an RABCK. LoL.

I'm adoring each story, but my fave is still the supposed war story. :)

As I finish each part I will write about it in this journal entry.

PART 2

I didn't have much of a fave with this section of stories. I felt bad for Burdock and his rabbits in the hay making story, but they had no legit reason to kill that poor cat. The rabbits' journey through the marsh had me being thankful that Princess Nosy, my rabbit, is not in the wild! The comical field had me wondering how El-ahrairah and Rabscuttle get into those types of sticky situations. The curiosity of El-ahrairah reminded me quite a bit of Princess Nosy; too curious for their own good!

I enjoyed the use of rabbit language, so to speak, in this part of the book. It gave the rabbits a completely seperate world from any other animal and I thought that was neat. As a rabbit and all rodent fan, I may start using some of those words. ;)

Part 3

I adored part 3. It was like traveling back to reading Watership Down. The interactions are humerous, thoughtful, and oddly... enchanting. My fave story was "The Secret River" and I thought it was neat how later on Flyairth was brought into the story. The secret river reminded me a lot of how humans are always looking for ways to figure out what people are thinking, and it was pretty neat to see this in the rabbit world. It's like a book on CD or tape, you can't wait to hear what's next.

Overall, I don't think any book can match Watership Down, but I liked being able to relate back to the prequel for some stories. It was a fun, light hearted read. A definite keeper for me. :)

Thanks again phantom!!
