A book from my late-teenage years. The Acid House is a collection of three seperate but inter-connected random short stories, set in inner city scotland. The first story, the Grantham Star Clause, is definitely the best of the three. After the WORST day of your life imagine getting turned into a fly as a punsihment from God? Welsh's language, written in Scottish dialect and incorporating the inner city slang, takes some getting used to but it is worth persisting with. I have all of Welsh's books. Takes a while to get to grips with the dialect but it is worth it. A great book. The DVD is also well worth checking out.
