I was rather dissapointed with this book. I understand that, being based on what real people did, the main charater, William Spandrel (who is himself fictional), has to tie the real events together. However he is always very passive, allowing eveyone else to control how the events happen and how they affect him.
As the main character, he should be acting on events, not allowing them to act on him. This, to me, made everything seem rather pointless.
So to whoever finds this book, i hope you enjoy it more than I did.
