A story of sex, peculiar relationship, split personality disorders and strange magic.

Birthstone is well written, clear and entertaining. Watch as Jo and Lola fight for the attention of Hector... and win.

Of the more disturbing aspects are the relationship between Hector and Lola and Jo's personality shifts which often leave her confused and angry.

This book is certainly worth a read, but for myself the second read makes it less surprising and therefore less enjoyable.

Hello Angyl...
This book appeared on my bookshelf and I haven't the slightest recollection of how it got there, I definitely didn't pick it up from Upperthorpe Medical Centre in 2005!! I suspect it may be the evil workings of a certain mutual friend of ours who seems to leave a trail of bookcrossing books behind her in the same way most people leave a trail of carbon dioxide, it probably ended up in her bookcase at some point and then found its way to mine by some kind of process of osmosis.
Anyway, I attempted to read it but unfortunately just couldn't get into it. I didn't really like the style of writing and the characters kind of annoyed me, so I gave up on it. I'll probably leave it somewhere or take it to a charity shop or something.
