This book was recommended to me by an acquaintance who had read and enjoyed it. She thought that, having first hand experience, I might be interested in how the author describes the catastrophic illness of the main character. Much too much of this story walked right into my living room and settled itself in...even the fact that the story takes place right in my backyard here in Wisconsin. I struggled through this book simply because it was too well written and hit too close to home.
