Make Poverty History!!

Journal Entry 2 by hunnyb from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, April 26, 2006
This handy little guide to saving the world shows you how you can help defeat world poverty in seven easy steps. And the best thing of all - step one is buying the book! :) Great for reminding us of the important things in life. I'm going to send this off as a companion book to Sabavana's bookray of "Change the World for Ten Bucks".

Very Nice Idea...unfortunately the meetings are over...does anyone know the official outcomes? Good book for promoting education and statistics about the poverty and trade issues of Africa etc.

To be posted to the next person on the Save The World For Ten Bucks bookray...

Thankx!

A very quick read. UK-centric, as it was put together to encourage people to act in the lead up to the 2005 G8 summit in England, but nonetheless holding some good points. I have already been involved with this campaign so it didn't give me anything new, but I'll be passing this along to hopefully educate others. Don't let Bono's involvement put you off - this is a worthy campaign!

This came along as a surprise with Sabavana's "Change the World for Ten Bucks" bookray. Because of the busy holiday season, it'll be 2008 before this gets read and mailed.

Journal Entry 12 by Lobodyke from Bardstown, Kentucky USA on Sunday, January 27, 2008
Although this book contains some good ideas, most of them were actions of which I was already aware. In addition, there were parts of it that I found a little dated. However, I did like the section on trade justice -- a good explanation and the first time I've really understood how this works.

Nice little book. Obviously pretty dated, but it was still good for some raw statistics, and overall a great concept.
