This is the first of the Xanth Novels.
I sent this out today to tkdtina as part of a trade. Enjoy!
Received today in a swap. I LOVED Piers Anthony's The Apprentice Adept series, so I am excited to start these Xanth books!
I love Piers Anthony's made up animals, and the way he weaves reality into make the make believe. I had many chuckles with this book! Setting it up in a relay.
Sending (3/13/06) to sarradee for bookrelay "Restrictions Okay".
Arrived today. I read this series when they were first published up to about number twelve or so. I've decided to start over again with number one, and try and read them all.
Book Description
Xanth was the enchanted land where magic ruled--where every citizen had a special spell only he could cast. That is, except for Bink of North Village. He was sure he possessed no magic, and knew that if he didn't find some soon, he would be exiled. According to the Good Magician Humpfrey, the charts said that Bink was as powerful as the King or even the Evil Magician Trent. Unfortunately, no one could determine its form. Meanwhile, Bink was in despair. If he didn't find his magic soon, he would be forced to leave....
Update 6/05/2006: Still TBR but putting it into the Relayer's VBB, that way I'll read it when someone picks it out. Gives me an incentive to move it upward on Mount TBR.

Not quite as funny and cute as I remembered but I was much younger then. If I remember correctly, the puns get much more far out and strange over the next few books. I enjoyed re-reading this enough that I'm going to continue through at least the next three books (what I have on hand) and then see if I want to keep going.
Going to Three104 who picked it out of the Relayer's VBB.

Came today - thanks!
This book has been here long enough, time to move it along.
Thanks Three104 - Part of the bunch. I have read some of Pier Anthony Adept books so this should also be a fun read.
