It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

I loved this memoir. The characters and vignettes were so astounding that I kept telling myself, "This is true! This person exists! This really happened!" There were some graphic moments and some disturbing parts, particularly a graphic scene between the 13-year-old main character and his 33-year-old "friend," who decided to show him what gay sex was all about. I was just uncomfortable thinking about this young child in a sexual situation with someone who took advantage of him. In all, though, the author takes the disturbing parts, the wacky parts, the unbelieveable parts and writes it in such a lighthearted manner you don't feel bad for him for too long. My only nitpick would be the abrupt ending; it seems as if there was lots of detail throughout the book and the ending felt like, "And then my mom called me and I went here and did this. The end." That's a minor complaint, though! I am glad I read this and I enjoyed it all.

I found myself impatient and bored with this book. The author just didn't engage me and I found myself irritated by all the "wacky" people portrayed. I agree with ladyveg about the abrupt ending, although that seemed to be the style throughout the entire book. It just didn't flow smoothly.

Sent off to MissyZ as part of a bookrelay. Hopefully she will enjoy it more!

I've seen some really mixed reviews about this book - will have to wait and see what I think though...

Thanks Lola!
