Offred can remember when she had a family,when she made love to her husband, protected her daughter and had money of her own. All that has changed now. She is a handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She has sex with the commander once a month, praying he will make her pregnant. She can leave his house only once a day to go shopping. She is not allowed to read. She is only worth anything if she has a baby.
Arrived safely today! This looks like a good book.
Very interesting book! I almost didn't read the part at the very end either. I just assumed it was author's notes or something. So next reader, read it ALL!
