From what I could gather the main character was a mixed up 30-something with a failed marriage and topsy turvy career, returning to her hometown to unearth the circumstances behind her father's dissapearence.

I have to say I didn't like this book as much as I've like other Atwood books. I loved The Handmaid's Tale and Oryx and Crake and this one just wasn't as exciting.
I thought the story was interesting and I did read it rather quickly, until the end when the character lost her mind and I wondered if Atwood and her editor lost their minds too. It just got a little to crazy for me to enjoy and the change was too abrupt.
