My Mum brought this copy home for me from England the last time she was there. My book-sis had also sent me a copy from Cyprus, so this one will travel first.
"Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-ngith phone call while on business in Paris: the lederly curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes. As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci - and suggests the answer to a mystery that stretches deep into the vaults of history.
Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labytinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost forever."

The book has arrived safe and sound! Thanks so much - in spite of the wildly varying reviews of this novel, I'm a slave to pop culture and have been panting to see what all the hype is about. I can't wait to get into it!
I had to read this book before the movie came out and Hollywood corrupted my impressions. I finished the book in under a week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, there are parts which would be unbelievable in any other work, but are forgivable in a good mystery/thriller. Brown's imagination and attention to detail riveted me in "Angels and Demons" and again in this work.
Final verdict: not great literature, but a very good read; I thought it was captivating, well researched and imaginative. It certainly made me re-examine my unquestioning adherence to my belief system and consider the alternatives.
I am curious now to see what plans Hollywood has for the story ... I've heard all religious references have been removed which makes me wonder what they will have left to work with.
April 25 update; Given to a friend who is also an avid reader and who I'm hoping will continue this book's journey - enjoy!

Kept me going right until the end. My co-worker told me to read Angels and Demons first which was a great idea. I was fascinated by the historical content and will now spend some time researching some of the topics contained within. The book will now be passed on to another good friend so it will find a good home.
