For some reason the title of this book has always stuck in my head. Wonder why.

This book is fantastic! From the back cover: "gun shots rang out in the grandest mansion in Savannah, Georgia in the early hours of May 2, 1981. Was it murder or self-defence?" But the book is so much more than that. Part murder mystery, part travel diary, part social enquiry - Berendt offers us a peek in Savannah society without being overly judgmental. Read it! :)
