The Emperor of Ocean Park

Overall, this is an excellent read. It contains three core themes that move the story forward. One is just a plain clever conceit from the world of games, another is family relationships, but the other is one much more fascinating theme than games or family relationships - relations between African-Americans and white Americans. The only thing keeping this book from getting a rating of ten is the fact the author tries to bring the book to a close by using too many tired ideas from other thrillers and ultimately overwhelms the reader, making them want to put the book down just to rest their eyes.
