Story about 2 girls growing up in 1950's South Africa and how they are affected by apartheid. Once you start this book it's difficult to put it down.

This is one of those books I have been wanting to read and not read yet, so here goes!

Journal Entry 5 by jazz-ee2 from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom on Monday, March 31, 2008
Finally got round to reading this book and loved it! It's one of those books that's great to read to find out more about what happened in the past and how that has determined why things are as they are now, but done in such a way that it's incredibly readable, a really great read. I loved all the characters, and really didn't want to leave them at the end! This is the first of Barbara Trapido's books that I have read, and will definitely try another.

I know you're not suuposed to judge them by their covers, but the front of this book caught my eye, and when I read the blurb it sounded really interesting, so I've taken it from the prize winners bookbox to try.
