A man is killed when his car skids on black ice, leaving his wife a widow and his widowed mother childless. His mother, Naomi, decides to move from Massachusetts back home to North Carolina, and his wife, Ruth, determines to go with her, as in the Biblical story of Naomi and Ruth. The rest of the book covers how they deal with their grief and move on with their lives.
Picked up at tonight's meet-up. When countedx58 raves about a book, you know it will be a winner. And this one did mot disappoint. A well written novel filled with genuine human emotion.
