The Witching Hour (Lives of the Mayfair Witches)

Anne Rice tells a rich and lavish story that does bogg down in one place where she takes the narrative beyond the supernatural: home renovation. It's a good book and overall very captivating. The Witching Hour, like Interview with the Vampire, explores the supernatural in what has become Rice's formula for horror before it became forumulaic. This scrumptious novel is best served à la Nouvelle Orleans, with beignet and café au lait.
