I was in the middle of this book at the time of Thompson's suicide and the news shocked me.
The book follows the campaign trail of the 1992 election of bush v. clinton and a few other political stories. My favorites was of a time when he ran for sherriff of his hometown in Colorado.
If you enjoy HST's form of Gonzo Journalism, you will love this book. He makes me laugh in all of his writings, Thompson has a true gift of writing that can report facts, all while keeping you thoroughly entertained. HST has a talent of finding himself in the middle of everything interesting and different and this book is true to him and the life he led.
His life is one that was, and now is, truly lost. His talent will be missed, his fans understand but are mornful.
