Do You Remember the First Time?

This Book is Currently in the Wild!
13 journalers for this copy...
As her best friend Tashy cuts into her wedding cake, 32-year-old Flora realises she is disillusioned with life. Suddenly, her well-paid job, cosy flat and stable relationship with sensible Olly don't amount to a whole lot. Flora wants to be 16 again. She closes her eyes and wishes. Her wish has come true. Waking up the next morning is a shock. But now Flora has the chance to right some wrongs. Trading crows feet for pimples, love handles for a torso Britney Spears would kill for and dull dinner parties for house parties where White Lightning and snogging are the order of the day, Flora revels in a life where things are far less complicated and just much more...FUN. It's not all laughs though. Will what she does change the future? How can she get back to the present and her ordinary life? And does she even want to?
Isn't it everyone's fantasy to go back in time knowing what you know now?
I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit of fun & light entertainment. A vignette of what might have or should have been. Good stuff.

This arrived in the mail today. Perfect timing as I just finished a book this evening (coincidentally, another one of yours catsalive!) Looks like I'm going to be having a bit of a chick-lit fest this week.
Will read and pass on shortly. Thanks.
Will read and pass on shortly. Thanks.
I didn't really take to this one. Interesting premise but could have been better executed, I felt it was a little predictable and I wasn't drawn to any of the characters. That said, I did rush home from the station to finish it last night so it can't have been all that bad. I think it was a bit of a thought-provoker more than anything.
If given the opportunity, I don't know if I'd go back to being 16. My early teenage years were a bit trying but by the time I was 16 everything was pretty much sorted. In fact I don't think I'd go back to any particular year. I'm in a good place now and I don't think I'd be here if I hadn't stumbled along the way.
I've PM'd deense for her address and will pass on when I get it.
Thanks for organising this catsalive.

Wow! This book was waiting for me when I got back from campingfor the weekend, and I read it last night! Highly entertaining, definitely falls into the category of chick lit, but the concept behind it is very different, and very good.
Ready to go out to the next person now!

Just found in the letterbox. Thanks deense. Chick lit. is not a usual reading category for me but that's the great thing about BC, breaking down all my preconceived ideas and assumptions. I don't usually go out of my way to see fluffy movies either but often enjoy them immensely!
The ultimate second chance..yes don't we all wish for that, with the wisdom of our years to guide us!

Wow, that was a quick read. I enjoyed it and kept turning the pages. A real escapist book but I found it humorous, particularly some of the dialogue. Very predictable but I wouldn't have wanted it to end any other way!

OK so I got caught in the car waiting ... waiting ..... waiting and just happended to open this and.....................oh you know the drill :0) Nice and light and fluffy just what my head needed.
I kept thinking of the fluro pink, green and yellow colours that where around when I was 16 ick and the bubble skirts eewwww. Now I'm showing my age! lol
Yes very predictable but still enjoyable. I read it ever chance I could. I like how it finished but, that boy will need serious therapy for sexual fantasies!!
I'll arrange to get this off to Sabavana soon.
Thanks for the chance to read this. I did enjoy it and chaulted(?) quiet alot even laughed out loud

Was hoping to meet-up with Sabavana at a westie meetup but alas "life" got in my way. I'll be posting this Monday in Aussie post satchel. Sorry for holding up this ring.
Found on my doorstep this morning, thanks for posting Loopylou127. This is next in line to be read after my current book - it looks great!
Just finished this book. I loved how this story wasn't a straight "travel back in time" affair, with the world exactly the same as it was when you were 16yo. That aspect of it was great, and I loved the beginning when Flora was still 32yo, before she went back. I was a bit disappointed about the ending though, kinda didn't do much for me at all. Still, it was a nice entertaining read, thanks for Ringing it catsalive :-) Will get it off to fushmush next week.
Oops forgot to journal that I sent this yesterday.
I received this in the mail on Friday and read it over the weekend.
Whose favourite time in life is their teenage years? I enjoyed them, but there is no way i'd want to relive them. Does anyone else think they were the best years of their life?
The different take on time travel was interesting but I don't think it worked well. She managed to improve her relationship with her mum and dad, but only because they traveled back in time with her. Wouldn't it have been better to regress everyone? I think it would have been more interesting... Although, I think I'm also expecting too much from chicklit *G*.
There were some funny moments. I particularly liked a line about a pork sword and doughnut (*G* yes I'm a bit crude).

As I recall I hated my teenage years. I reckon it would be fun to go back knowing what I know now, but only for a short time. Given the choice I'd go back to about 25.

to be honest i was disappointed. i enjoyed it (read it in 2 reads) but it felt like it wasn't as good as it could have been. i was relieved it was finished which is unusual. i really liked the idea for the story.

Arrived safely in the mail today.
I really enjoyed this book. I've often thought it would be great to go back in time knowing what I know now and make a few different decisions.
I thought the author dealt with the age/time thing in a unique way and was good about Flora not having any money to access etc.
I thought it interesting that only certain people remembered her from her old life (Tashy, Ol and Clel). But I did feel sorry for Stanzi at the end. What happened to her? Did she get her "real" best friend back?
Off to Sarahbear next :)

I actually quite enjoyed this book. In a few places I got a bit confused as to who knew her and who didn't but all in all quite a funny relaxing read.
Posting off to amberc when I have her address.

I finally finished this today - eye problems and fatigue made me take longer to read than I expected.
It was a good read although the fact that not everyone went back in time made it a little confusing but funny in parts. I did enjoy it and look forward to reading more from this author - already have Amanda's Wedding on Mt TBR!
I'll get this back in the mail to catsalive next Wednesday.
