I don't normally choose books from the best seller lists, but I'm glad that I made the effort to engage with this one.
The story is basic. A man splits up with his wife and learns to care for his son.
What raises this above the Nick-Hornby-esque genre of modern 'bloke' books is the rather charming honesty of our protagonist about his motives and emotions.
slightly spoiled by a daft 'Hollywood' ending. But worth the time invested.
