Robert Langdon, Harvard Professor of symbology, receives an urgent late-night call while in Paris: the curator of the Louvre has been murdered. Alongside the body is a series of baffling ciphers. Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Da Vinci - and further. The curator, part of a secret society named the Priory of Sion, may have sacrificed his life to keep secret the location of a vastly important religious relic hidden for centuries. It appears that the clandestine Vatican-sanctioned Catholic sect Opus Dei has now made its move. Unless Landon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, the Priory's secret - and a stunning historical truth - will be lost forever.

The ultimate airport novel - a perfect blockbuster. The writing will occasionally make you cringe: 'Around his temples, the grey highlights were advancing, making their way deeper into his thicket of coarse black hair. Although his female colleagues insisted the grey only accentuated his bookish appeal, Langdon knew better'. But that doesn't matter because the plot is so fantastic and pacy that once you start reading you won't be able to put the book down until the end.

I have only read this once but this is the third copy to come my way. This was left behind by my friend Ben when he came to visit. Yes, he'd picked it up in the airport. Yes, he thought the writing was bad; but yes, he read it from beginning to end in one sitting!

I am saving this copy as my original bookray went astray and there are a few people on that list who are still keen to read it.

I have contacted all the people who were on my original bookray. It's been so long that most people have now read the book but there are a few people still interested.

The bookray participants are:
1. Morgail, USA
2. Dani75, Germany
3. Ferengie, Germany (not before mid July when exams end)

After that, please feel free to continue the ray, pass it on or wild release.

Oh wow...this was a good book! I'd heard a lot about it, and I was a little skeptical. However, I really really enjoyed it. Great mystery. I loved all the riddles and codes, and especially loved how it all centered around the Holy Grail. Lots of fun.

Thanks Fire-Dragon for resurrecting this bookring:)

Sending to Dani75 tomorrow. Enjoy!
